Powerful Perfumes: A Scent-Making Workshop (SOLD OUT)
Overview
MAKE A STATEMENT WITH YOUR NEW DIY SIGNATURE SCENT
Fragrance has the power to uplift, inspire, unlock memories, and much more. Whether through self-care and beauty regimens, spiritual and ceremonial use, or conveyance of personal style with a signature scent, perfume throughout history has rightly established itself as an art form that is linked to—and yet transcends—luxury. In the spirit of The Broad’s special exhibition, Mickalene Thomas: All About Love, we invite you to learn about the practice of perfumery and create your very own 4 milliliter spray vial scent sample. Organized and hosted by The Institute for Art and Olfaction and led by a diverse team of educators, workshop participants will experience and smell a variety of perfume materials and mix their own unique formulas.
Workshops take place indoors and are limited to 20 participants per time slot. Ticket price includes materials and is nonrefundable. Please note that workshops are intended for adults age 18+.
Tickets include same-day access to The Broad, including Mickalene Thomas: All About Love and our third-floor collection galleries from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Please time your visit according to your workshop start and end times.
Tickets to this event do not include access to Yayoi Kusama’s Infinity Mirror Room—The Souls of Millions of Light Years Away (2013), and must be booked separately.
