THE BROAD
The Broad’s mission is to make contemporary art accessible to the widest possible audience. Founded in 2015 on Grand Avenue in downtown Los Angeles by philanthropists Eli and Edythe Broad, the museum offers free general admission and presents an active program of special exhibitions and innovative live events, all within a landmark building designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro. The Broad is home to the Broad collection, one of the world’s leading collections of postwar and contemporary art, which continues to grow as new artists and artworks are added. The museum is the headquarters of The Broad Art Foundation’s worldwide lending library, which has been loaning collection works to museums around the world since 1984. To create greater public access, The Broad will break ground on a 55,000 square-foot expansion in early 2025.
ABOUT THE POSITION
At The Broad, it is our mission to make our collection accessible to the widest possible audience while we strive to create a welcoming, inclusive environment for all our visitors and staff. The Broad has a nationally recognized, award-winning, mission-focused first-class visitor experience program unitizing a timed ticketing system as well as a high-performance retail experience, and other database driven initiatives that heavily leverage mobile and cloud-based SAS technology including Salesforce as well as other backend mission critical database systems.
Reporting to the Director of Technology, the Applications Manager oversees all database driven and cloud-based applications. The Applications Manager is the museum’s technical specialist for any applications used by the museum and works to create seamless workflows and strategies to improve the overall digital experience supporting The Broad’s visitors and staff. Additionally, the Applications Manager will collaborate closely with teams to ensure that all technical software systems are optimized and continuously improved to support operations and enhance the visitor experience.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understands and champions the museum’s mission of accessibility by upholding The Broad’s core values of creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all visitors and staff.
- Is the subject matter expert for all the museum’s business applications including the following:
- Ticketing (Ticketure)
- Retail (Shopify, Teamwork,Shipstation, Klaviyo)
- CMS System (EmbARK)
- CRM System (Salesforce and related CRM integrations)
- Digital Asset Management (Terentia)
- Human Capital Management (Paylocity)
- Finance and Accounting (Sage Intacct, Docusign, Bill.com, Divvy)
- Security and communications (Vocera, Johnson Controls, Metasys, Lucent, Lutron)
- Learning Management System (Litmos)
- Web (GoDaddy, Cloudflare)
- Support team performance through consistent coaching and feedback, including facilitating corrective action conversations, and conducting individual check-ins as necessary with application owners and IT team.
- Proactively support applications listed above, provide training, develop reporting tools, and roadmap integrations and enhancements for future use.
- Build weekly and monthly reports for Salesforce, Shopify and other related systems to enhance and fortify workflow for teams within The Broad.
- Champion a solutions-oriented approach and provides excellent customer service to all staff within the museum
- Liaise with all applications vendors and representatives to ensure optimal system functionality
- Develop and plan lifecycle track for all applications in collaboration with the Director of IT
- Understand data governance and data privacy best practices and standards

REQUIREMENTS
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in an applications support role, QA role, and/or applications development role
- Demonstrated ability to oversee the lifecycle development, implementation, administration and documentation of software solutions. Includes configurations, customizations, upgrades and deployments.
- Experience in Salesforce Apex coding and development tools Process Builder or Flows
- Strong experience navigating Salesforce CRM
- Fluent in CSS, HTML, JavaScript, SQL, MySQL, Oracle and SSRS
- Competency in Ruby, PHP and Python is a plus
- Possesses technical comprehension regarding database design development, data modeling and data mining techniques
- Experience in reporting tools such as Power BI and other related integrations for Salesforce CRM
- Experiencing in documenting, developing workflows and training staff
- Must have demonstrated strong leadership qualities in customer service, project management, workflow management, vendor management, application support and application development
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, prioritizes action items, and understands urgency when required
- Excellent self-study, analytical skills, creative thinking problem solving skills
- Gallery, library, archive or museum management experience is a plus
- Ability to participate in museum business application communities such as MuseWeb and MCN Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to effectively work in a dynamic environment
- Solutions oriented with positive with a self-confident attitude
- Ability to lead by example through motivation and encouragement

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed both inside the museum. This role requires both remaining stationary as well as moving about the museum to assist staff within the museum.
SCHEDULE
The Applications Manager will work Monday-Friday 9-5pm or 40 hours per week. The Applications Manager should have the flexibility to maintain off hours should it be required.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Annual salary of $110,000 - $140,000
